This charming city, often called “Little Kyoto,” is certain to surprise a visitor with a new discovery at every visit. Changing seasons provide different backgrounds to the city’s many historic and cultural sites, and the festivals in spring and autumn bring a lot of excitement. The hot water flowing out of springs in this city, containing sodium and sodium hydrogen carbonate, soothes tired muscles and leaves the body toasty warm.

SFarmers’ Morning Markets at Miyagawa and Jinya-mae
Good places to check out fresh local vegetables, pickles, flower and handicraft. Conversations with farmers in traditional monpe workclothes will give you a taste of the local dialect as well. The Miyagawa market, which stretches from Kajibashi to Yayoibashi, isn’t just for tourists. It’s where the locals shop for their own kitchen needs.
